Dec 28, 2012· I was thinking about it this morning and I get a lot of plug ups in my dredge hose. The Hydroforce nozzle is shrunk down some at the tip and I even put a bar across the tip opening, but still longer rocks skinny enough to make it through the nozzle will turn sideways in the hose and jam it .
Because of this, an oversized jet would be high on my personal priority list if I were in the market for a dredge! So, the combination of some practice in learning which types of rocks to avoid sucking up the nozzle, and the oversized powerjet on modern dredges, will eliminate most of the plugups that would otherwise hinder production.

The measure of the dredges size is the diameter of the suction hose not the nozzle. But, nozzle opening diameter IS the measure that states use to limit dredges. Generally, recreational prospecting is considered to have an upper limit of 46 inches, depending on state law.
